A really BIG night’s sleep comes to Bristol

Monday, 27th April 2009

What are believed to be Bristol’s largest 3 star hotel double beds have been delivered at the soon to be opened Future Inn Hotel in Cabot Circus.

Made in Ireland and based on Canadian design, the double beds are a massive 6ft 11 inches long and 6 ft 4 inches wide. They are already ensuring a great night’s sleep for guests at Future’s hotels in Cardiff and Plymouth and are replicas of those in the group’s hotels in Canada.

The arrival of the beds marks the start of rooms being furnished ready for the hotel’s first guests in early May. The first two floors of bedrooms and the restaurant will be the first to open followed by the conference facilities in June and the Jazz club in August.

Del Brett, managing director at Future Inns, said:” It’s very exciting to see the hotel taking shape and the final furnishings being put into place. The beds receive fantastic reviews from our guests and we believe they will be the largest double beds in a three star Bristol hotel.

“The super size beds are just one feature of the overall Future Inns experience, which aims to recreate home comforts and, we believe, offer our guests the best night’s sleep in the city.”

The 149-bedroom hotel in the heart of the city's Cabot Circus represents a capital investment of almost £20m. The hotel will offer a bar, a unique steak and chophouse restaurant and free parking for 100 vehicles. On the top floor, enjoying panoramic views will be conference facilities that can seat 400 theatre-style and 200 banquet-style guests. The basement floor will host a jazz club, which will showcase national and local talent.
