Berkeley Castle
Berkeley Castle, still home to the Berkeley family as it has been for nearly 900 years, is a flexible venue providing prestigious and secure surroundings for corporate events and catering. In addition to conferencing and business meetings, it provides the perfect backdrop to product launches where luxury, traditional and character are the watchwords - and with its quirky towers and corners, it adds a taste of the unusual and unexpected.
Use of the Castle Meadow and Estate in conjunction with the castle gives a wide range of options, utilising the castle grounds and gardens providing a truly spectacular and flexible historic location. It will certainly be memorable and is more individual than usual conference venues.
The Castle itself can be available for exclusive use; a number of areas are available for corporate functions, including the medieval 13th Century Great Hall, with its painted armoury screen, dais, minstrel's gallery, family portraits and tapestries.
Additional rooms available are the Armoury just off the Great Hall which can be laid out for coffee / tea or display, the Long Drawing Room with its elegant Georgian mirrors, family portraits and minstrels gallery, and lastly the Morning Room which is a mediaeval room, converted from the old chapel. The latter can be available by special arrangement for a limited number of times a year (to protect ancient furniture and fittings, which may have to be moved).
Outside we can offer the Terraced Gardens, which are Elizabethan terraces, including Elizabeth 1's bowling green. Below is the Great Lawn - ideal for linked marquees, summer entertaining, and larger trade events. The Upper Gun terrace can take marquees to hold display, or 150 for reception drinks. With our packages guests have freedom of the gardens.
Our car park offers free parking on hard standing for up to 150 cars plus space for coaches.
